Major General Thar Aye’s Pre-election Campaign in Chin State

Major General Thar Aye, accompanied by other officials went to Tedim from
Haka on November 5, 2009 at 5:30 pm. They went there with 20 motor cars and
60 members. He held a meeting with government officials, NGOs, Township
elders, women affair association and church pastors on November6, 2009 at
7:00 am. Officials from Tedim township, Tonzang township, Rih township and
Cikha township attended the meeting and presented their township’s
necessaries. All presentations were carefully recorded.

Major General Thar Aye met with the pastors separately and ask information,
urge them to obey the government according to the Bible (Everyone must obey
the state authorities, Romans 13:1), to cooperate with the government and
the need to persuade the opposition groups active in border area to return
to legal fold. Moreover, he expressed that development in education,
business, health, communication, therefore, peace and cooperation is needed.
Though many pastors were informed to attend the meeting, only 6 pastors
attended and were presented 50,000 kyats each and requested to pray for
SPDC. The pastors joked and laughed at each other that the morning wage,
50,000 was so handsome. The convoy proceeded to Kalaymyo on afternoon.

Genenal Thar Aye was former Commander of North West Command. He has been
holding the policy to oppress Zomi (Chin) since he was a North-West
Commander. He was just seeking support from the people in Chin State for the
coming election. It was the first time that military regime met with the
religious leaders in Tedim since 1988. Most of the pastors did not attend
the meeting as they were reluctant to meet the general There have been so
many Human Right Violations and religious persecutions in Chin State under
military regime By Moses

Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
